Idk, there's stuffs on demon weapons that was revealed in the manga and NOT! that isn't really touched upon exactly in the anime, and since a lot of people watched only the anime, might as well.
-NOT class demon weapons are people who have not yet mastered their weapon transformations.
-To move up into EAT, a NOT class demon weapon has to master their transformation and pass the physical performance requirements for the advanced, combat oriented EAT class.
-People are free to quit a partnerships and find a new one at any time they please, barring issues of having to start the familiarization process all over again with someone new. There are both informal and formal ways of partnering up: students simply asking one another by their own initiative, or at mixer events that the school holds for unpartnered people to find their potential partners.
-Demon Guns produce bullets made of compressed soul wavelength. Lest anyone think this is the easy way to completely dominate people with a hax0rz weapon type, this means that they will absolutely not produce the same level of physical devastation as actual guns of the same caliber.
-Demon Weapon-ness is a genetic trait. It can pass through the family for multiple generations without being expressed as a phenotype, as was the case with Soul.
-Tsubaki's situation where she inherited her entire family's range of possible demon weapon form suggests that (EDITING LATER TO CLARIFY)
1) If you're in a robust demon weapon family that produces demon weapons on a fairly consistent generational basis, there is a certain range of forms that you can expect to see from them
2) She is Japanese, and all of the weapon forms are Japanese, so it can be assumed that your character's race and ethnicity reveals the country-of-origin weapons they might exhibit
-Note that this does not mean that if your character is for example, white, they can't be an Asian Indian weapon, just that at some point, the bloodlines crossed with an Asian Indian weapon family. However, if it happened so far back that your character has no knowledge of such a connection, it is highly unlikely to be the case.
-We go by the manga so there are no such things as meisters who can subconsciously manifest a demon weapon bloodline because that didn't happen in the manga.
-It is okay if for your Team Resonance, your weapon form receives a dramatic "upgrade". The pistol twins can go up to a higher caliber, or turn into arm cannons, depending on the resonances they do, etc.
-Autonomous weapons are rare. The only reasons you'd be an autonomous weapon would be.
1) Your weapon form is such that meisters are entirely superfluous (Justin is a guillotine).
2) Your weapon form is so excessively unwieldy that no meister can actually wield you (Giriko is a freaking massive chainsaw)
3) Purely speculation/extrapolation: your weapon is such an unbelievably massive dickhead that even if they manage to never even open their mouths while their meister is wielding them, it is so excessively unpleasant and even excruciating to match wavelengths with such a noxious individual that nobody will partner up with them so they are forced to work alone.
-Again, autonomous weapons are rare because they have much more difficulty fighting than they would in the hands of a meister. It is assumed that this doesn't happen unless there is really no other alternative, because it is that much greater of a hassle.
-Ruling from Dawg the Head Admin: No, autonomous demon weapons can not learn Soul Purge.
-Ruling from Dawg the Head Admin: No, your weapon can't be a "double-weapon" form such as a gun-blade.
-Ruling from Dawg the Head Admin: No, your weapon can't come in detached forms because your weapon transformation = your body parts.
It is sketchy as heck and you will be side-eyed if you try to get around this by adding a chain to two weapons that have never in the history of ever been connected by a chain just to get around this rule.
-Demon Weapons who don't attend DWMA are harassed by ordinary people, and they are often feared and suspected to be prone to losing control of themselves and accidentally hurting people.
-There is a kinda obvious-subtle undertone that even in DWMA, which serves as a nurturing place to Demon Weapons, that they're a bit of a marginalized group.
1) Unquestioned obedience to the meister. The most common thing out of Jacqueline's mouth is "the weapon follows the meister".
2) The expectation that the Demon Weapon's first and foremost obligation in combat is to save their meister's life; their own safety is negligible when it comes to their meister's well-being. As Soul says, it's the duty of the weapon to do so.
3) Meisters get far more recognition/credit/acknowledgment then Demon Weapons do. If a team is successful, it is usually attributed to the meister, rather than excellent teamwork. This is not a hard and fast rule, as it is shown that a lot of girls want to be Soul's partner because they find him physically attractive, and it is not out of the question that a Demon Weapon would be extremely popular and in-demand because they have a kickin weapon transformation, but in terms of ranking and accolades it is usually the case until a Demon Weapon achieves Death Scythe status.
-It doesn't mean that your demon weapon must be entirely submissive even personality-wise and interpersonally with their meister. Just that there is a very much present understaning that their own standing and well-being is below that of the meisters, which they may try to disregard, accept, or find issue with.

The following is pure speculation and conjecture, taken largely from conversations I had with Niko on the same subject, and these were questions/ideas we came up with on the topic:
Questions that have not been answered by canon/questions to consider:
-How does a weapon settle on its weapon form? From Tsubaki's family, it is entirely possible for a bloodline that reliably produces demon weapons to have a limited range of possible weapon forms. However, how did these weapon forms coalesce?
-Is it achieved through a foundation of selective breeding? Could families themselves n the past have just tried to determine their lineage's weapon manifestations by encouraging/limiting their marriage to other demon weapon bloodlines that tend to have specific weapon forms?
-How do more "newly developed" weapon types come about as demon weapon transformation forms? As in, every time a new type of weapon is developed, how does a new born demon weapon become that? i.e. the transition to using ammunition type weapons
-It might be possible that a particular bloodline be renowned for their weapon transformations. Niko is basing his demon weapon Sophie's family background as being partially that their family is famous for producing demon shotguns.
-Going by that, it might also be possible that certain bloodlines are considered especially desirable as a prospective partner, for the weapon types they regularly produce. Again, refer to how people even OOC are slavering over Sophie just because she is a demon shotgun.
-Just as how artisans may pride themselves on having always, for generations, served this or that influential family, such long-standing associations might exist between demon weapon bloodlines and meister families.
-Taken a step further and placing it in the broader context of history, it might make perfect sense that demon weapon bloodlines once vied (and continue to compete) to be the weapon partners of meisters from highly influential/acknowledged families (for their meister skills OR social/political clout).
-There might even be some kind of formal association for specific demon weapon types. You might take this to mean like "Sword Weapon Registry" in DWMA itself as a student org that provides tips and empowerment for demon swords, or even global alumni chapters. Weapon type guilds Back In The Day, even!

A Demon Weapon could be considered an extension, or a medium for the Meister's Soul. this means that compressed Wavelength bullets, which all Demon Guns would use, would hold similar effects to that of Soul Purge, and cause damage to the Soul, rather than on a physical level. It'd be the same as forcing your wavelength into someone who is not used to it, meaning that people like Stein who are capable of adjusting their Wavelength, could render the effects of the bullets useless.
