Shibusen, the academy of meisters and weapons. The crooked streets of Death City were presented, in most lights and angles, with the clear view of the academy that pierced the sky in macabre elegance. In there was humanity's defense against Kishin, Madness, and monsters. Monsters like him. The standard DWMA team was provided with the goal to gather a total of 100 souls, 1 of which being that of a witch. It didn't take much deductive reasoning to conclude that there was a good chance that Chang-o's killer was in there, somewhere, or waltzing about this city without a shred of regret. But he didn't care, for why would he? He was a bunny.
Rabbit peered through the sunglasses in which hardly ever left his face in public. The magnificence of the academy was obvious to him and he couldn't harbor any hate towards it due to his usage and reliance on magic. They were different, like him. If no one where else, Bunny would find his new owner here. Rabbit regained his focus, looking down at the crooked street below him before casting his gaze to the right. Through the darkened lenses he made out the neon lettering that spelled out "Uncle Bob's Rumba Coffee", and the sign shook and moved as if dancing. Maybe this "Uncle Bob" would be a suitable owner, for it was clear he owned property and was responsible enough to run a business. Not to mention his name was Uncle Bob, and Uncle was a familial title. He must have been trustworthy.
He glanced around him, finding the narrow street to be empty. It was 2 P.M., when Rabbit was fed his second meal of the day by Chang-o if she was home, or had to go find something in the pantry if she wasn't. Bunny had gone shopping with her sometimes, just because she was nice and would let him ride in the top of the cart. Of course, most places didn't allow him in while a bunny. So he didn't ask to go. Now, however, he would need to fend for himself and get food for himself. Rabbit had the "money", green notes with various numbers on them. He had been educated on how to count and whatnot, but he never had used money much. Chang-o didn't let him in her purse, because that was bad.
With a sigh of reluctance, the hooded man entered the coffee shop. It was a very small building, but had nice upkeep for what it was worth. Much like outside, the shop was actually pretty empty. Rabbit would have turned back and left had he not saw a portly woman behind a counter smile at him and welcome him inside. "Hello." That's how Chang-o greeted people that weren't him and that's how he was told to speak to his friends while in this state. "How're you?" Also pretty standard. The lady sighed and looked down, responding that she had been better, but immediately went back to smiles.
She didn't ask him how he was or ask what he wanted. Not very owner-like of her. Bunny skimmed the board, finding several words that he didn't know like "expresso", which he assumed was something like express, and decided to choose something that sounded like it would be good for his second meal of the day. "May I have... 'Happy Coffee', please?" He never heard of that. Must have been their brand-name coffee. She asked a question or two after that, and Rabbit - clueless about coffee - managed to get out of the conversation with a decaf "Happy" coffee, whatever that even meant.
Bunny nodded at the woman as he received the cup. It was hot, he knew that from when Chang-o used to drink it on occasion. He turned his back on the woman, walking over to one of the few tables that made the building's inside even look slightly habitable. Rabbit sat and brought the cup to his lips, drinking it slow so it wouldn't burn him. Instead of watching the lady, whom probably fled back into the backroom anyway, the magical animal watched the front door where he had entered in from. He was used to being alone during the day while Chang-o was at work, but company might have been nice. Maybe his new owner would stroll on through the door, he never knew.

TELL ME BABY, IF IT'S WRONG TO LET MY HANDS DO WHAT THEY WANT |
Two in the afternoon was a rather odd time. A time between the morning and evening where an average individual could neither say they were fully awake nor asleep. A time where a single meister of the name Miyoko Altaris would be fully expected to be attending classes at the local DWMA. This however was not the case. On the contrary, the female meister's classes for the day had been released early for one reason or another. This was at the very least what she would claim. Nevertheless due to her routine of roaming in the midst of night, her current weariness knew no bounds. The muscles of her body began to weigh her down its movements. Her features displayed a dreary yet peeved look as she entered the local shop of energy drink products.
It should be abundantly clear she did not rest an adequate amount. With her habits of sleep it was not particularly strange. Regardless she was determined to keep with her ritual of wandering in the evenings and believed a mere boost of energy would satisfy this requirement. This was actually the first time she had stepped foot in such an establishment however she did not act as if the act was foreign whatsoever. Despite the shoddy appearance and meager clintele, she had only heard positive feedback, such as their use of true coffee beans. Thus she endeavored to attempt this. Miyoko silently yet casually approached the counter as well as she could manage in such a state, somehow overlooking the other customer in the process. She did not wish for anything overly strong and bitter however and merely ordered a tamer beverage.
"Mocha Frappe with extra whipped creame." She stated in a commanding tone, almost as if demanding it instantaneously. Yet that being the case, it did not cross the woman's mind to watch the employee fulfill this order. With this she allowed her body to collapse onto a nearby seat to rest briefly instead. She needed to begin practice training as soon as possible as well. Perhaps today if she was in the proper shape for such strenuous activity.

Bunny's foot tapped nervously, whether by consequence of the traces of caffeine in decaf augmented by his body's lack of recognition to the substance, or by mere impatience as he watched the door. His mind did its thing, straying and worrying (mostly worrying) with every passing moment of nothing going on around him. Although he was relatively calm in appearance and noticable deposition, inside he couldn't help but feel vulnerable and out of his natural habitat. Bringing up the cup to his mouth to take another idle sip, Rabbit predicted a raptor would swoop down and claw into his back. His natural mechanism wouldn't react in time, his instincts would be beaten by a predator. But of course that didn't happen, for that was entirely irrational. Instead, something almost as surprising occured. Behind the shades, his hidden eyes widened and his jaw loosened a bit. He silently gasped.
How beautiful. Rabbit didn't prefer to judge by appearance, for the traits of an owner were much more in depth than just what he could see on the outside. This incident, however, was much different. It had to be. Maybe he was forgetting Chang-o and just assigning traits to her based on what he saw now, but that was unlikely. Actually, it was impossible. He would never forget that face, even if he made an effort. Unfortunately, Bunny had given up on that door and had been absorbed into his worry, only catching a glimpse of her. She demanded a drink and turned around, giving Rabbit a better look. It had to be Chang-o, she had changed, definitely, but he had been vulernable and without an owner for a couple weeks now. Chang-o wouldn't be gone that long; it simply wasn't possible. Thus, this was her. He rationalized to himself, watching her take a seat.
Turning around, Bunny took another sip of his coffee and drummed at the sides of the cup with his fingers. How did he do this? She probably wouldn't recognize him like this, what with the hood, baseball cap, shades, and no visible rabbit ears. He sighed, looking over to the counter where the woman approached her end of the counter with a slightly different cup. Rabbit stood, leaving his cup where it lay and walked over to the bar that separated the sitting area and the coffee preparation staff restricted area. "Allow me," he spoke to the employee. He reached into his pocket and grabbed one of the loose notes and placed it down on the counter. Bunny hadn't seen Chang-o pay yet, so he figured he'd do her the favor. Besides, he wouldn't need the money anymore since he wouldn't be alone.
He took the cup and turned around to find Chang-o at her seat still. After a deep breath, the magical animal approached the table, reaching over her shoulder and placing the coffee cup in front of her. "Here's your coffee." She would recognize his voice, surely... hopefully. Realizing that, without a doubt in his mind, he was speaking to his owner and everything would be okay now because of that, Bunny was reassured and his nervousness was suppressed entirely. Rabbit leaned over and spoke more clearly, just above her ear, "And I missed you."
She looked tired, but it was another hour until nap time if he was following the old schedule. He turned around, seeing that the employee was busy with something else and wasn't paying attention to the front area or the counter at all. Perfect. Bunny took a step forward, and with an instant transformation he was on her table as the English Spot that he was more comfortable as. He cast his eyes up to her, sitting next to the coffee cup that he just sat down for her. She was probably overjoyed -- because she was probably worried about him. Its a good thing they found each other again.
Your turn to crush a dream.

TELL ME BABY, IF IT'S WRONG TO LET MY HANDS DO WHAT THEY WANT |
The silence with the coffee house was rather ominous minus the sound of machines grinding coffee beans and mixing the energy filled concoctions. The irate sounds managed to allow her to keep her wits about her. Her golden eyes managed to wander aimlessly with no interest in whatever it scanned across. Yet the sound of masculine voice caught up to her senses, the warm breath to reach the surface of her skin. It took a minute for the meister's mind to comprehend what was happening as her irises focused upon the mocha frappe on the table in front of her. Another minute to find an appropriate reaction to having be confronted in such a way by a questionable man. If she had not been weary she would have instantaneously rebuttal and push the man aside. This did not appear to be a problematic response.
"And who do you think you-" Miyoko stopped mid sentence as her irises gazed over at the empty space next to her. Strange. She distinctly believed to recall a strange man approach her and speak to her from that location. Was she hallucinating due to exhaustion? Perhaps her mind was carrying her senses away with it? No. She refused to believe this. Her eyes examined the rest of the coffee house to no avail and her features furrowed due to this. As she rescinded to let the matter go and take hold of the miracle drink that was to reawaken her senses and drive back her weariness, her eyes widened in surprise to see an animal at the table next to the cup.
That is not to say that the creature was not cute. The question merely stood, where did this white rabbit come from? Without much hesitation she lifted her right hand and prodded the bunny's belly with light curiosity using her index finger. The warmth and texture of the coat certainly made this a true bunny through and through however the question remained what it was doing here. "You're a cute one." She made an effort to comfort the thing and raise her hand to scratch between his ears. The meister held no inkling of knowledge of what to do in this situation however and merely playing this by ear. It appeared to be successful. "Strange place to find a rabbit though. Lost?"
Perhaps if she was not tired she would have quickly deduced that the man from before was the current rabbit before her.

Bunny hadn't dealt with this sort of thing before, as he usually kept his rabbit form in wraps in public. When he was with Chang-o, however, she seemed to have a sort of preference for the bunny and preferred it to him walking around on two legs. That was okay, though, since Rabbit liked being a bunny much more than the complexity and social expectations of his half-life as a human. He peered at her with his charcoal eyes, reflecting a couple shades of auburn from the bright lighting. Rabbit at first was poked by the woman, who seemed surprised at first. Maybe she too was initially under the thought that this was a hallucination, for it must have been too good to be true for Chang-o. He sat, lowering his body to the table to lay there. After the brief inspection of the poke, she proceeded to scratch behind his ears, a rubbing sensation that occupied a few minutes to an hour or two of his life every day -- an amount that was actually a huge factor in his general contentment, probably. He missed that, but she scratched his ears now. So it was okay, just like it was going to be... forever, now.
He nuzzled the palm of her hand as she did this, listening for more of a reaction for her actually seeing him again. Bunny's mind, running at the speed it always did, immediately went through what felt like a million different scenarios of what the next few seconds might be like. All of them were different, but all of them had the central theme of love.
But she crushed that dream, no big deal. He could wait. Instead of recognition and cuddles, she asked if he was lost. Bunny wasn't entirely sure how to react to this because, well... he wasn't lost. As of four seconds ago, he had his owner and would just need to follow her home and would no longer be lost. It was easy as that. He had nuzzled her hand and in his thoughts poked his nose against her wrist a bit, but when she did this he pulled his head back and pushed his ears back. Rabbit tilted his hand a little bit at her, his eyes betraying him and showing a bit of his sadness. Had she moved on? Found another pet, maybe? Amnesia? Bunny thought of all these things, and really couldn't help but be negative. Love was all about extremes after all, and as much as he didn't intend to show it to her, her lack of reaction had crushed him for the time being.
Bunny decided he should probably do something, even though it was sort of tempting to sit here and let her scratch his ears. Rabbit turned his head and hopped a single time, getting near the edge of the small table that were set out in the coffee shop. He got up on his hind legs, trying to look over the counter. Huh. Where did that lady go? Well, whatever.
He fell to his death off the edge of the table. Only, he transformed before he hit the ground so he didn't actually fracture his skull and bounce off the floor as a ragdoll. Bunny now stood beside the table where the white rabbit had been before. Rabbit looked down to the lady that was sitting there, previously scratching behind his ears without any consideration for him being her pet. Chang-o looked tired, maybe she was having some issues. Whatever, he didn't plan on leaving her any time soon even if she had amnesia or had moved on or anything. Obsession wasn't severed all easy like that. "I'm not lost... Are you okay? You seem tired." Bunny raised his hand and tilted down the shades for his charcoal eyes, the same as the ones he had as a rabbit, to peer into her eyes.
"You should probably sleep, y'don't seem to be thinking straight, and it's pretty close to nap time." He said this mostly to himself, to provide a reason why she wasn't recognizing him.
