August's heart leaped. She had said yes! She had said yes! To he, of all people! It was like a dream come true; albeit a lot better, because it had really happened to him.
He wasn't just a lone crusader, a wandering solitudal warrior any more; now he had a friend, an ally, a partner - someone he could rely on and trust with whatever he could afford to grant her! His very soul began to dance to its own beat, a rhythmic, symphonic, orchestral rapture of glee and harmony and wonderful, perfect--
"...my bag now?"
He shook his head, forcing himself out of his blissful daylight reverie. Yes. There would be time for dancing and praising and loving later, in due time. For now, he had to earn her trust and prove to her his noble intent. With a vigorous nod of his pretty, juvenile little head, he released his fluffy young grasp from her sweet, soft fingers and handed her her bag.
"Do forgive me, M'Lady," he said with an embarrassed grin, "I assure you, from the very essence of my soul, I will make you feel proud of this decision!"

It finally looked like August was brought down to Earth as he shook his head. Ashley simply stood there quietly, bright red eyes wide open staring at the gentleman. His hands parted from hers, and what she kept asking for was eventually brought to her. As soon as the strong, young man released the handles of the bag into her tiny hands; Ashley fell forward with a little "Wha!
" as the bag hit the ground. She managed to stay up, thankfully. She didn't want to crash into August again. Having that happen twice would have felt just so pathetic from her. " I-it's fine!" She exclaimed a little too loudly. Not because of what August said, but what just happened with the bag. " It's fine! Nothing is fragile in there! So--" Her voice lowered down to her usual tone as she mustered all her strength to pull the bag up, and straighten her posture. She had not quite fully recovered from the exhausting stairs she climbed earlier; but it was enough to reach her room, or hopefully until she got to the girl's dorms. The bag barely hovering an inch above the ground. The strain on her arms was quite clear, yet she flashed a gentle smile as she looked back in August's eyes. " --Then… I suppose… Umm…" Ashley had to look away for a moment. She had to. She didn't want to. She looked back at August. " I'll… see you sometime tomorrow, maybe? To see each othe-- If we need anything to do… for this partnership I mean?" [/blockquote][/blockquote]

August nodded. He really and truly wanted to offer to carry the young lady's bag for her, but something suggested to him that she would not appreciate the sentiment as much as he would intend for her to.
"If ever you should require assistance of me, M'Lady," he said with a little bow and a graceful flourish, "Then know that I am always available and willing to aid you! As for now, I am...afraid I must be off. Duty calls, and I must answer, ahahah."
He didn't particularly want to go. He was very much enjoying himself, enjoying the time he had with this little lady, and would gladly have remained, had he not other duties to attend to. The life of a knight errant was seldom an easy one, though - it wasn't as if there would suddenly cease to be evildoings and misfortunes amongst his fellow men if he elected to stay a tad longer.
With a last nod, he turned on his heel and parted ways, heading off inside the academy until again they were fated to encounter one-another.
"Now I've found thee...and the world shall know thy glory...Dulcineeeeeaaaaa, Dulcineeeeeaaaaa!"

"Y-yes. If I ever need anything, I'll be sure to see you right away." The petite blue haired girl nodded shyly in response to August's bowing. She watched him leave, her eyes never parting from his figure. The bag softly dropped to the ground with a small thump. Ashley took one step, her left hand almost fully extended towards August, and mouth opened as if she were going to speak. No… She sadly told herself as her arm slowly dropped down. "That would be selfish of me… eheheheh…" She muttered to herself as the young gentleman went farther and farther away from her.
She thought, just for a moment, to simply leave her bag and run after him. To be kept in his company, no, just his presence made her feel different entirely. Now that he was leaving, Ashley's chest began to tighten. "Yeah… see you sometime soon, I hope.
" She said a sadly as her expression was. What would he think of her if he knew that she could barely do any sort of physical activities? Or was sick every once in a while because of her weak body? Would he have said those words if he knew? Ashley started doubting that August would have asked her if he knew. She knew that eventually she had to tell him, or he'd figure it out on his own. No! She could not just let these negative thoughts dwell in her mind! Right now she needed to get back to her room. What was going to happen, was going to happen, and there just was no way to go around it when it did. Left hand grasping the handles of her bag, helped with her right; Ashley lifted the bag. Without a moment to waste, she began this herculean task of bringing this bag to her room, while her heart hoped that she would meet this gentleman sooner than later.
